The Royal Yeomanry’s Telford-based Reservist unit, D Squadron, will hold an open evening on 27th June.
Serving soldiers will talk about the benefits, including financial, of being a Reservist and will explain what it takes to become part of Shropshire’s prestigious Yeomanry. The unit’s kit, equipment and vehicles will be on display which visitors can try out.
The event will run from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Bridgeman House, Dawley Bank, Telford TF4 2BQ. Free and secure parking will be provided plus refreshments.
Roles currently available in D Squadron include reconnaissance, Human Resource specialists, Combat Medical Technicians and Chefs.
In the last two years the unit has been on exercises across Europe and the USA (California) and has deployed on operations in support of its regular partner regiment, 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards.
Soldiers from D Squadron have also taken part in adventure training in the Alps – canoeing, abseiling, mountain biking and skiing.
