The Association of Jamaican Nationals (AJN) held a Be Inspired – Uniformed Services Awareness Day on 7th July at the Aston Villa Football ground. The event was open to anyone aged 15-35 and looking for an exciting and rewarding career within the uniformed services.
The day brought together members of the Armed Forces – Royal Navy, Army and RAF alongside local Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance and consisted of presentations, workshops and practical activities. The local ACF Cadet band also performed as visitors arrived.
Over 65 young people attended on the day, along with West Midlands Metro Mayor, Dr Andy Street attended along with motivational speaker Barrington Patterson and ex Aston Villa football player Mark Walters.
