Together we have worked on a series of initiatives designed to attract talented personnel into both the military from within rail, light rail and construction/civil sectors, and supported the Groups continued mission to supporting those leaving military service with recruitment and training opportunities within these sectors.

Furthermore, the company is dedicated to developing members of the Armed Forces community and their families with a bespoke mentorship programme that offers advice on housing, CV writing, mock interviews as well as providing them with dedicated ‘Well-being Champions’ who are trained in mitigating the risks of stress and poor mental health.  

The Group has a longstanding history of supporting the armed forces community and understands that employer support is vital to the recruitment of reserves and encourages their current employees to consider joining the reserve forces. As part of this commitment, the company actively promotes the benefits of joining the reserves among its employees and apprentices by advertising on the company website, intranet with  opportunities to take part in the Industry Challenge, Reserve Challenge, Leadership Challenge and Directors Challenge. The company also supported the Royal British Legion by taking part in the ‘Pedal to Paris’ where the company garnered the support of a number of organisations which culminated in its raising over £7000 towards the charity.

Over the course of the last few years, the company has hired 18 service leavers from several Army regiments, including the Army Catering Corps, 1st Royal Irish Regiment, Royal Marines, 29th Commando, 2nd Battalion Royal. The Company has developed a comprehensive policy that supports those employees who are members of the Reserve Forces with a commitment to ensure that they can train regularly and allows them to be mobilised for full time military service at any time.
