Employers from Shropshire spent the day with West Midland RFCA and members of 123 (Telford) Supply Squadron Royal Logistic Corps (RLC) on Thursday 15th November.

Everyone spent the morning clay pigeon shooting at Parson’s Barracks in Telford, Shropshire.

For some people it was a chance to hone their shooting skills on the expert clay range, for others it was a chance to try their hand at clay pigeon shooting and for some the first time firing a gun.

There were lots of successful shots on both the beginner and expert ranges with everyone saying how much they had enjoyed the morning and the opportunity to shoot on the range, and take part in something a little different.

After the clay pigeon shooting everyone returned to the Army Reserve Centre to warm up with a curry lunch cooked by the Army Reserve chefs. It was a delicious buffet with curry, dahl, rice, poppadum’s and naan bread. There was even a choice of three desserts for those who could fit in.

Following lunch there was an opportunity for the employers to learn more about the West Midland RFCA, Army Reserves and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers with a series of presentations.

Steve Oliver from Nick Jones Wealth Planning attending the event and afterwards commented:

“I just wanted to thank you for such an amazing event.  I was one of the foolish people who admitted to having shot clay pigeons before and subsequently labelled expert… a label I disproved successfully. That said, I had a great time trying.

After the shooting you provided us with a feast fit for the Queen, and dessert to die for. I was then very impressed by all of the presentations. The team and everyone we encountered were fantastic.”
