A new platform has been launched to help military spouses and family members take up new training and employment opportunities being offered by employers who are forces friendly.
What is Forces Families Jobs?
Forces Families Jobs was launched in September 2019. It followed research, commissioned by the Army Families Federation and conducted by the Warwick Institute for Employment Research, which resulted in a key recommendation to create a central portal for employment and training opportunities for military spouses and family members.
The platform has been produced through collaborative working between the Naval, Army and RAF Families Federations, in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence Relationship Management team and Manpower. It provides free access to employment and training opportunities to families in the UK’s Armed Forces.
The platform allows them to apply for jobs with companies and organisations who are ‘Forces family’ friendly – who understand the unique challenges that come with being a family member in the Armed Forces. The website is free to use with employers advertising their job vacancies having signed the Armed Forces Covenant, or being able to demonstrate their commitment to the Armed Forces.
The platform also offers additional support for those seeking employment, such as how to write a CV and prepare for an interview, as well as news about career events and insight days.
