Privacy Notice for Job Applicants

West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (WM RFCA) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.

This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your working relationship with us, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What information do we collect from you?

During the recruitment process we will collect your:

  • CV

Why do we collect this information?

This information is collected from you so that we may consider your suitability to be considered for the vacancy within our organisation, and also that we may contact you either by phone, email or letter on any matter relating to the vacancy.

We collect your Personal Data according to our legitimate interests of advertising our vacancy to interested candidates.

Who might we share the data with?

Where we need to disclose information to a third party, for example to take up a reference or obtain a disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau or NSVS, we will not do so without informing the individual beforehand unless the disclosure is required by law.

What do we do with your personal data?

We will use your Personal Data to contact you by email, phone or letter to assess your suitability for the vacancy and to liaise with your throughout the process.

Can you opt out?

How long do we keep hold of your information?

All Personal Data is retained for a period of 6 months from the commencement of candidate selection so that we can facilitate requests for interview feedback.

Personal Data of the successful candidate will be retained in accordance with our HR policy.

Is your personal data used for any automated decision making?

We do not process your Personal Data for the purposes of automated decision making.

What are your rights?

You can contact us and

  • Ask for a copy of the Personal Data that we hold or process
  • Request that we correct Personal Data for you that we hold or process
  • Object to our processing your Personal Data
  • Inform us that you want the Personal Data we hold on you erased.
