West Midland RFCA worked in association with the Royal British Legion (RBL) in Birmingham to hold a unique event for Veterans of all ages. A large number of regional and local employers from the West Midlands attended and were offering active jobs on the day to Veterans seeking new employment. The event was supported by employers such as Accord Housing, Highways England, Sainsbury’s, and National Express.
The jobs fair was held on 2nd July at the Pop-Centre in Birmingham, the RBL’s flagship centre in the West Midlands. The Pop-in Centre is the ‘go to’ place for all Veterans seeking support in the region. The event was attended by over 60 Veterans.
There was also access to four confidential meeting rooms where employers could interview or have a quiet chat with job-seeking Veterans on the day. All Veterans were asked to bring along their CV’s where support was provided for any Veterans needing support back in to employment, either through access to free training grants, or one to one support from charitable partners.
