Warwickshire Army Cadet Force (ACF) Stratford Detachment have been based at the Army Reserve Centre (ARC) in Broad Street, Stratford for many years, however in 2015 the decision was made to officially close the ARC and sell the site.

The decisions to sell the site did not come easily and the key element was to ensure that the Warwickshire ACF Stratford Detachment, who were the only occupants on the site, could find a new location within the town. After some searching an exciting new development in the town was found and has been able to provide the Cadets with the facilities they require.

Foundation House, officially opened in November 2017, is both granted and let by Stratford-upon-Avon Trust and is a community of charities, local groups, social enterprises and changemakers. The ACF have been given an office, classroom areas and storeroom inside, as well as an area outside for drill and field craft activities.

Steve Huyton, CEO for Warwickshire & West Midland (South Sector) ACF said: “Warwickshire ACF are very grateful to the Stratford Community Trust for giving their Stratford ACF Detachment the opportunity to be relocated within Foundation House. The Cadets now look forward to moving across and becoming more integrated with the local community.”
