Privacy Notice for Association Members
West Midland Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (WM RFCA) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.
This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your working relationship with us, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What information do we collect from you?
As an Association member we will collect your
- Name (including any military rank)
- Name of your spouse/partner
- Address (home and business)
- Phone number(s) (home and business)
- Email address (home and business)
- CV
Why do we collect this information?
We collect your Personal Data as consent, so that we can send to you information about WM RFCA such as notification of meetings, agendas, minutes and occasional invitations to specific events. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need to enable us to provide this service.
Who might we share the data with?
Your Personal Data is processed by the permanent staff of the Association and may, on occasion, be reviewed and updated by any of the Association’s County Chairmen. Names and contact details may be shared (by request) with the military chain of command or WM RFCA’s legitimate business contacts such as the Lieutenancies.
What do we do with your personal data?
We will use your Personal Data to communicate with you by telephone, email or letter concerning WM RFCA matters.
Can you opt out?
You can opt out at any time if you do not wish for your details to be retained by West Midland RFCA. Please contact us at wm-info@rfca.mod.uk
How long do we keep hold of your information?
Your Personal Data will be kept by us until such time as you cease to be a member of the Association, or you notify us that you no longer wish to receive further information.
Is your personal data used for any automated decision making?
We do not process your Personal Data for the purposes of automated decision making.

- Request that we correct Personal Data for you that we hold or process
- Object to our processing your Personal Data
- Inform us that you want the Personal Data we hold on you erased.
