Thirteen Herefordshire businesses signed the Armed Forces Covenant at NMITE’s sixth annual Military to Business Showcase in the summer. As sponsors of the event it was inspiring to see such a high number of Armed Forces Covenant signings. The event provided a space to connect the military community with potential civilian employers and educational opportunities.
Over 250 attendees had the opportunity to visit 60 company stands showcasing opportunities available in the area. Keynote speeches by the then Minister for Veterans and People and former, Marine Al Carns MP – now Minister for the Armed Forces – and by the Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, James Cartlidge, were delivered during the event.
Over the last six years, NMITE has been working closely with the Armed Forces community in Hereford and further afield, to develop lifelong learning programmes and provide support through partners, providing access to new avenues of employment and skill enhancement.
The thirteen businesses that signed the Armed Forces Covenant are:
• Tritanium
• Simple Design Works
• Hereford Military History Festival
• BeSecure Protection Services
• Marches Fundraising Company
• Your Endless Travel
• CJP Broad Service Solutions
• RS4 Group
• Vinco Sales Ltd
• Whitecross High School
• Denco Fluid Systems
• Border Office Supplies & Systems Ltd
• Healthwatch Herefordshire
Thank you to all of these organisations for pledging to support the Armed Forces community – and to NMITE for their advocacy and support as an ERS Gold Award holder.
