Vacancy – Cadet Executive Officer

Warwickshire & West Midlands (South Sector) Army Cadet Force

Applications are invited for the post of Cadet Executive Officer with Warwickshire & West Midlands (South Sector) Army Cadet Force. The successful candidate will be located in the County Headquarters, Tennal Grange, Tennal Road, Harborne, Birmingham B32 2HX.

The salary for the appointment commences at £38,501 which includes an addition for working unsocial hours and for hours worked in excess of standard hours.  In addition, the successful candidate will be required, as a condition of their employment, to hold a commission in the Army Cadet Force at the rank of Major, for which they will receive remuneration at the appropriate rate up to 28 days per annum.

The successful candidate will be eligible to join the Council of RFCAs Pension Scheme (up to state pension age).  This is a Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme.  There is a holiday entitlement of 25 days (30 days for those with a minimum of 5 years public/military service).

Working through the Deputy Chief Executive as line manager, the successful applicant will be answerable to the Chief Executive and must have ideally served in the Armed Forces or Cadet Forces. You should have experience in the following:

  1. A sound knowledge of the military system and a wide administrative experience.
  2. Be familiar with all aspects of military accounting procedures.
  3. Be able to advise the County Commandant on all aspects of the APC Syllabus.
  4. Be conversant with staff work to facilitate dealing with military headquarters at various levels.

The appointment is for a probationary period of six months in the first instance after which it may be confirmed as a permanent position.

The successful candidate will also be required to provide two suitable referees and must undergo Security Clearance and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
