Vacancy - Surveyor (South Sector)
West Midland Reserve Forces’ And Cadets’ Association (WM RFCA)
WM RFCA are recruiting a surveyor to work in their Estates Department, reporting directly to the Head of Estates. The role is based at Tennal Grange, Tennal Road, Harborne Birmingham B32 2HX. Although this role requires regular travel across the West Midlands, the specific area of responsibility is the south of the region from North Stourbridge south to Ross on Wye and east to south Birmingham, Coventry and Warwickshire, with responsibility for some 97 sites comprising buildings of varying age, style, use and size.
The position attracts a salary of £33,000 per annum. In addition, the successful candidate would be eligible to join our pension scheme. The annual leave entitlement is 25 days plus Bank Holidays increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service or if prequalification criteria are met. The appointment has a probationary period of six (6) months, after the satisfactory completion of which the position will become permanent. Due to the requirement for visiting locations across the West Midlands the Sector Surveyor is provided with a company car and must therefore hold a clean driving licence.

The post requires chartered status and full membership of CIOB or RICS or working towards either, with surveying experience. The individual must be pro-active, a self-starter, well organised, able to solve technical problems, and be a team player. They must be IT literate, and willing to learn the bespoke IT system used. As an outward facing role the successful candidate would have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Offers of employment will be conditional on:
- Confirmation of the right to work in the UK;
- Satisfactory references;
- Successful completion of the Baseline Personal Security Standards (BPSS) check;
- Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Agreement to sign a contract.
