UK Director with signed Covenant

A security firm has become the first company in the West Midlands to sign the Armed Forces Covenant in this financial year.

Evolve Security Risk Management Consultants have offices in the UK, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.  They have worked with various Government departments, the Police and a wealth of private sector clients around the world, offering an extensive array of security services.

With two of their Directors having previously served in the military, the company also understand the importance of supporting the Armed Forces community and the transferable skills that veterans can bring to the workforce.

Dean Taylor, Director of Evolve Security Risk Management Consultants, said of their choice to become a signatory: “It is with great pride and honour, that as the Managing Director of Evolve Security Risk Management Consultants, I am able to sign up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

“Being an ex-Sapper, I appreciate what a commitment our Armed Forces make to protecting and serving our nation.  As a nation, I feel that we should give back where we can to our forces, to honour their commitment to keeping us safe.

“When discussing the Armed Forces Covenant with Peter Strydom, my partner in South Africa, who is also ex-forces with the South African Recces, he is incredibly supportive of the brotherhood that spans the military of all nations.  Peter is as excited as I am about this and we will uphold the values and ethos of the covenant throughout our whole organisation.

“We believe that the Armed Forces Covenant is such a good idea, and we are now also trying to get something similar from the South African Defence Force.  We are all firmly onboard with the covenant and are looking forward to encouraging more veterans to join our organisation and help us expand and grow our business.”

The Armed Forces Covenant is a voluntary pledge that acknowledges and understands that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.  This includes serving personnel both in the Regular and Reserve Forces, service leavers, veterans, and their families.
